Cultural and historical curiosities about meats and eggs

Vegetarian diets are becoming increasingly popular since the production of vegetables has a smaller impact on the environment. Historically, most cultures consume meats. Meats are important dietary sources of iron, proteins and vitamin B12. However, if well planned, a diet free from animal-source foods can be nutritionally complete and healthy.
